Evaluation & Research Areas
Ottawa County
The Department of Strategic Impact’s primary focus is the technical support, evaluation, and performance improvement of Ottawa County departments, services, and programs. The DSI works closely with all aspects of the County including the County Clerk, Public Health, Parks and Recreation, Administration, and the Community Action Agency to assess the barriers and opportunities in serving citizens with accountability and transparency.
Local Units
DSI offers its evaluation, research, and data services to local units of government for technical support or as part of a fee-for-service arrangement. We have had the privilege of working with the City of Holland, the City of Zeeland, Spring Lake Village, and Spring Lake Township. Examples of work completed for these local units of government include strategic planning, survey and data collection tool design, data analysis and reporting, compiling community statistics for master plans, and staffing studies.
Local Nonprofits
The Department of Strategic Impact is open to formal collaboration with local nonprofits as part of a fee-for-service arrangement. The DSI has worked with local leaders such as Harbor Transit, Lakeshore Nonprofit Alliance, Community Action House, Ready for School, and each of the nine libraries located in Ottawa County. Partnerships with nonprofits may include strategic planning, full-scale evaluations, survey and data collection, data analysis, and more.
