Genealogy is a fascinating subject for experts and hobbyists alike. Tracing one’s family roots and ancestry can be enriching and fun. Genealogical records including death and marriage records are a source of significant information for those seeking their lineage and are a matter of public record. Ottawa County has electronically archived death records dating back to 1867 and marriage records from 1905 to the present. These electronic files are available at a computer portal located at the Ottawa County Clerk’s Office: 12220 Fillmore Street, West Olive. There is no fee to use this self-service station; however, we do charge $15 for certified copies of these records. Genealogists and members of the public may search these records during our normal business hours.
