The Clerk is authorized to reject any assumed name, which is likely to mislead the public, or is similar to other business names as to lead to confusion or deception. The law requires that a sole proprietor or co-partners file their business at the County Clerk’s Office. A DBA protects a business from possible name duplications by other businesses.

How to Obtain a Business Registration List
- The Business Registration list contains names and contact information for businesses that registered in Ottawa County within specified dates.
- Fee is $20 per request and must be paid online during ordering. A convenience fee applies to your order total.
